Our Scouting Jubilee Beacon

Any excuse for a campfire? But this was a good one!

Super proud as a Scout leader to be part of a great group, celebrating the Queens' Platinum Jubilee.

Our cubs and scouts helped out building the beacon during the day as well as preparing the marquee and bbq for the evening festivities where their families were also invited to join us.

Hotdogs, burgers, onions, lashings of sauce, and hot chocolate made for the evening festivities, with rounders and wide games. The lighting of the beacon commenced after a special bugle call and was represented by a Beaver, Cub, Scout, and Young leader. They represented the 4 points of the compass representing all the people and countries from the North, South, East & West that the Queen is head of state.  Our finest voices singing the National Anthem brought the lighting of the beacon of honour to a close.
