Home grown

Everyone loves a sunflower and we've been lucky enough to see fields upon fields of them as we have traveled through France on our annual camping trips.

We're also very lucky to have parents who are keen gardeners and for the past couple of months have been nurturing from seed, some sixty-eight sunflowers to add a bit of colour and break-up the outdoor display area.

So today on one of the warmest days of the year we decided to work outdoors and plant them. Fingers crossed that they all take and enjoy their new home.

  1. One of my fondest long ago French holiday memories were the swathes of sunflowers in fields leading down to the Dordogne River (about 35 years ago!). I’d never really thought they’d be grown in fields when, as kids, we just used to grow one each and argue about whose was tallest, widest, etc. I love them and hope all yours grow tall and wide.
